ABOUT PACK 411

Cub Scout Pack 411 is located in San Jose, California.  We are serving boys from the John Muir, Meyerholz, Christa McAuliffe Elementary and Bethel Lutheran School Schools.

DEN MEETINGS

The boys meet weekly in small groups called dens.  Each den is made up of 6-12 boys.  Each den has their own number and an adult leader called a den leader.  Each den leader has an assistant den Leader or a designated parent to assist with each meeting.

PACK MEETINGS

Pack meetings are held once a month on Thursday evening at Bethel Lutheran Church, 10181 Finch Avenue in Cupertino at 7:00 PM in Torvend Hall, unless otherwise noted.   Pack 411 is Family friendly and we encourage family members to attend.  At least one parent or partner needs to attend.

Cub Scouts consist of four different ranks:

Tigers   Tigers are the youngest of the scouts.  Tiger cubs are first graders and their uniforms consist of orange t-shirts and a Tiger Cup Cap.  Tiger Cubs earn iron-on paws and beads by participating in activities. All other Cub Scouts earn the Bobcat rank first, and later the rank appropriate for their age level.

First Rank – Bobcat   Bobcat is the first rank earned as a scout.  The Bobcat’s consist of first graders that have graduated from the Tigers.

Wolf Badge            Second Rank – Wolf  The Wolf Dens are our second graders. Wolf Cub Scouts earn the Wolf rank by completing 49 tracks in 12 achievements. After earning their Wolf badge they can work on electives to earn Arrow Points.

Bear Badge           Third Rank – Bear   The Bear Dens are our third graders.

Bear Cub Scouts earn the Bear rank by completing 12 of 24 possible achievements. After earning their Bear badge they can work on electives to earn Arrow Points.

Webelos Badge           Fourth Rank – Webelos   The Webelos consist of forth and fifth graders.  Webelos Scouts earn the Webelos rank by completing the various requirements for Webelos Activity Badges. After earning their Webelos rank they can earn Compass Points by completing additional activities. Webelos can also earn the "Arrow of Light Award” the highest award in Cub Scouting.  The Arrow of Light is the advancement to Boy Scouts.

Arrow of Light          Arrow of Light – Advancement to Boy Scouts

All advancements are awarded at Pack meetings. This gives the boys the opportunity to be recognized in front of their family and peers for the work they have done in earning their various achievements.
